From the "Omnibus" series, 28 December 1952:
Stokowski talks about Mussorgski's Pictures at an Exhibition
Larry
Matheson writes about this video: "I also saw a previous Omnibus
program from 1952 in which Stoki talks about Pictures at an Exhibition. He
looks at some non-Hartmann paintings hanging on the wall and then we hear one of
his recordings (I think it was the AAYO version, since CBS owned it) while
dancers (Stoki calls them "pan-to-MEEM-ists", a word seemingly based
on "pantomime" and further distorted by that ridiculous
accent of his) act out the story. This is not very interesting, but I only
mention it now for the sake of completeness."

From the "Omnibus" series, 12 April 1953 (live):
"Stokowski leads inexperienced children in a brave attempt to play a
movement of Haydn's Toy Symphony, which is delightful to watch, and later on a
fine performance of Britten's Variations on a Theme of Purcell, with Stokowski
halting the proceedings several times to give amusing comments and have the
players demonstrate their instruments' capabilities. It's live, primitive television
and shows Stokowski at his genial best." (Comments by Larry
Matheson)
