I am often asked about the value of old 78 discs, LPs etc. The problem is that these old records have virtually no commercial value. Almost all of them have meanwhile been re-issued on CD in masterly transfers by various record companies. So there are not many reasons why somebody should tamper around with all the difficulties related to playing old
78s if the recordings are available in CD format.
Discs in absolutely impeccable condition, however, can have a certain value, as they can be used as sources for CD releases. In that case I would suggest to offer these on the Forum so that interested sound engineers or collectors can find them.
Recordings that have not been re-issued on CD yet might also be interesting for some people. To check if your recordings are still unreleased on CD, see the Discography.
